At Jack and Jill Day Nursery and Pre-School we are currently fundraising to be able to install a community defibrillator at each nursery site. Our Seacombe nursery were lucky enough to source government funding to install our first defibrillator, this is based at the Seacombe Children’s Centre on St Paul’s Road.
We feel as part of the community that this life saving piece of equipment is essential for the public to have access to.
Unfortunately, there are not enough defibrillators around and your nearest one could be almost 2 miles away. This is why we are working hard, with the support of staff and parents to raise money to have community defibrillators put in each of our nurseries which are located at Seacombe, Upton, Oxton, Rock Ferry and Brimstage.
What is a defibrillator?
A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy shock to a heart through the chest wall to someone who is in cardiac arrest. This high energy shock is called defibrillation, and it is an essential life saving step in the chain of survival.
How to get involved
Each of our nurseries will be holding fundraising events that everyone can take part in, either by donating prizes or money. We will also be holding sponsored events, please keep a look out for these on our Facebook page! If you have any suggestions on how to help us raise money or you would like to get involved, please contact your nearest nursery.
